From what I've heard, it's based on the rereleased PC version, which has smoother graphics. It'll probably also have trophies similar to that version's achievements.

I won't be spending my hard earneds on it.

I'm surprised with Squarenix's logic on this - money will pour in now if they do a proper remake. I doubt anyone but the staunchest purest would have a problem with it - I can't justify the sound or graphics anymore. It needs to be done.

But leave the gameplay and plot (mostly) as they are.

They sure are making a lot of remakes as of late.

They only seem to be able to publish and remake stuff nowadays. They make decent and alright games but It's been awhile since they've released a standout from the crowd title. Fingers crossed though. I'm hoping this remake is the game i've been waiting for from them.
