FFVII PC - now with cheevos!

Today's Citadel update.

Cloud saves I like; achivements I'm ambivalent about; Character Booster makes me go :S

Oh, and though GOG was the source of this info, I originally found out about it via the Cheap Ass Gamer forums. Just giving credit where it's due :P

I usually like Achievements, if they tell me when I'm playing good! It's like "oh you're so good" :D who doesn't want that?
- But those chapter "achievements" that are in too many games are just oh gosh so pointless.

I don't care about Character Booster as long as they don't re-evaluate and change the "normal" difficulty of the game. I can just avoid using the boost.

But the booster sounds like that Nintendo guide (?) feature though, and I do have a hard time accepting it in the games industry as a whole. Shouldn't games be enjoyable all the way through? Or at least pretend to be ;)

Yeah, chapter achievements are a little silly (but more gamerscore!). Some predictions I have for FFVII cheevos:

- Ones for getting Vincent and/or Yuffie in your party
- Ones for beating the optional bosses: Lost Number, Reno and Rude in Gongaga, Ultima WEAPON (post-Mideel), Emerald WEAPON, and Ruby WEAPON
- One depending on whether or not you fight the Turks in Midgar on Disk 2
- Completing the Turtle's Paradise sidequest
- Getting Don Corneo to choose Cloud
- Breeding a gold chocobo
- Getting to S-Class in the Chocobo Races
- Seeing the Zack flashback
- Getting Aeris' limit break manual and/or being able to use it
- Getting the Curse Ring
- Dating Barret
- Seeing the "500 Years Later" FMV

etc. etc.

The cloud saves feature should not make me giggle as much as it does. @_@

Oh wow, I just recently bought this for PSP, if this is on steam and has achievements, I'll have to get it for steam as well.

I'm just sad the PS3 port of the game won't get cheevos. Cheevos would be the challenge i'd want to up the thrill on doing another playthrough.

Oh k, cheevos... Haha it actually makes sense now. You made me look it up.

(I had assumed it was a cooler way of cheers! =)

Today's Citadel Update. Incidentally, $11.99 is also two bucks more than I payed for my physical PC copy back in the day!

I was going to pass on this anyway because it's not on Steam, but the SecuROM bit means I'm definitely not getting it now.
