Yes, as you can see, the staff duties have been rearranged into what we hope will be a fairer and more effective model (known by the technical term three-man oligarchy for those who care).

The staff are now structured thus:

Three administrators: Clyde Strife, Ludo, and Reno. Each has perfectly equal authority over the board, and will make major decisions collectively. There is no longer a "head administrator" to whom the entire staff and board is answerable: this model places an unfair burden upon one person, and is ineffective in many cases.

Three moderators: Scott, Dawn Treader and Digital Holocaust. Each has total authority over their forum(s) and may make decisions for their forum which cannot be overturned by administrators on a whim.

The adminstrators will of course also act as global moderators, moderating all forums as they always did. But in the case of local moderators, what is allowed in their forum is ultimately left to their discretion.

IMPORTANT:

With the new staff model, we also wish to inaugurate a new board ethic of openness...

If you're not happy with something a staff member says, then you are perfectly entitled to express your opinion in a fair and level-headed manner.

There will be no more of this "oh no, I'm afraid to post because the staff might think it's spam" attitude. It is mostly up to local moderators (and, where necessary, the administrator handling the issue) to decide what is spam, and all of the staff are going to give you the benefit of the doubt from now on, unless your thread becomes blatantly pointless and spammy. If the issue is contentious, the administrators can be contacted and they shall make a collective decision.

We wholeheartedly welcome suggestions relating to any aspect of the board. The best way to make a suggestion is by contacting an administrator via PM. The staff and administrators will entertain your suggestion and may create an open forum for discussion if they deem necessary.

And finally, if you're not happy, tell us—we'd like to know. But don't make forumdrama out of it.

I hope all of this is to your general approval. Questions, queries and suggestions will of course be entertained.

From your friendly administration team,

AJ, Justin and Reno.

** P.S.—If you choose to reply to this thread for whatever reason, I would like to make it clear that THIS IS NOT A CONTINUATION OF THE SUGGESTIONS THREAD. We are not silencing free speech, if that's what you think. This is just not the time or place to discuss such things. If you have a gripe you wish to air, please refer to above.

Thankyou and I love you all. This is all I ever wanted and much, much more.

I apologise for having gotten quite upset in trying to express my views and also for any feelings hurt.

This was not done for your benefit alone, it was done for the staff's benefit and for the posters who had expressed other concerns that wern't related to your own.

The staff rotation was in discussion for some days before you started complaining about wanting to have spam in the forums. You still don't get that, we'll be sorting out an easy and accessable way to include a chatroom on the forums for that sort of thing.

The staff rotations had nothing to do with your influence, I thought I should make note of that, just in case your post may come off as arrogant sounding to other posters.

Well it obviously didn't to a few posters who contacted me, and thus the reason why I made note of it.

Thank you mods and admins. I'm sure I speak for everyone on the boards, whichever side they agreed with, I'm sure eveyone respects and appreciate this movement and annoucement.

Thank you again, and look forward to these new policies.

Edit: And again, I'm not upset with any of you all, I love these boards, I feel I am a 'citadeler', and so are you all, and I love each and everyone of you... Now, come over here and give me a hug... ::Reaches arms out::

I might be more inclined to believe this if I didn't already know that this was a lie.

I've seen the dates. Staff reorg was not even brought up until a few days ago.

Are you denying the fact it was discussed over AIM between staff members? I've got other staff members to back it up as not only I was conversing with them about it, but they were conversing to each other about it too.

Thankyou, have a nice day.

Right, you were discussing staff changes... right after already redoing the staff partially (01-30)...

Xkeeper, I don't care how well you can hack, you have no right to be viewing any part of the staff forum. Continue it and you will be banned.

And yes, staff rearrangements and general changes to our methods have been in discussion for weeks now.

XKeeper, why are you here exactly? Are you here to cause problems between posters and staff? What exactly is it that you want here? We saw you several days ago looking through the staff forum, you are aware that it's a bannable offence to go snooping where you shouldn't right then using information from inside of there to invoke problems between us all. We thought you were here to help? We're not seeing that here right now so what's going on?

If you have to constantly discuss staff changes, perhaps you should look into tossing off the people who cause the most controversy?

Perhaps that's one of the reasons we've been doing staff changes? Then again, perhaps not. We appreciate your prior help with the board, but this thread is for questions about our new system, not suggestions.

(preemptive reply)

I didn't come here to be harassed, either. I came here to point out that you had some flaws in the board software and help fix them.

Also, what can I say? I saw a thread about mea nd got intrigued.
