Re: 2020 elections and current politics

I don't know that they could have, or that Trump will change anything long-term. The system is probably too corrupt to ever be corrected.

Re: 2020 elections and current politics

I'd like to think so, but enough money can change almost anything. Trump's greatest asset is having fuck-you money so he's less likely to be bribed into doing things he doesn't agree with.

Re: 2020 elections and current politics

Biden is as creepy and perverted as they come. I think the country could have benefited from Ron and Rand being in charge for a couple terms, each. The smaller the government, the better. I go with the candidate most likely to leave me alone the most and who has a legitimate chance of winning.

Re: The best RPG of all time, 2019

JRPG - Xenogears (best story and traditional turn-based combat, one of the best OST) Western RPG - Morrowind (most immersive world) Strategy RPG - Disgaea (most gameplay depth and content for this type of game) MMORPG - FFXI (best everything) I also enjoyed Dragon Age Origins, but probably wouldn't ...

Re: History

Haha wow, that really escalated. I hadn't been called "idiot" or "dumbass" since junior high which, ironically, is when I originally joined this forum. I feel fully re-immersed in the citadel now. I actually try my best to avoid political discussion as much as possible nowadays. ...

Re: History

To summarize: 1.) You live in California, which has been bankrupted by liberal policies and is now the poorest state in the country, filled with people who echo each other's hatred for Trump but cannot provide logical reasons for said hatred. 2.) Your #1 concern in life is getting stoned and you're ...

Re: Bringing up a child

Being raised by your biological father is the single greatest positive developmental factor for children. There's an enormous amount of research and evidence that shows that kids raised by single moms are insanely more likely to have more and worse issues than those raised in a household with their ...

Re: Blade Runner 2049

I walked out during the first scene with Jared Leto. Plot was dumb, there aren't any stakes if the main char is a robot, and the pacing was even more dull than the original. I also don't care about the contrived love story between a robot and a hologram.

Re: FFVII & Akira Similarities

Idk, I've played a lot of games and watched a lot of anime from the '90s and don't recognize any similarities the way I do with these two. Other similarities I remembered: - The big elevator in Junon Harbor is the EXACT same elevator beneath the Olympic stadium in Akira. - Both Sephiroth and Tetsuo ...

FFVII & Akira Similarities

I've thought about this regularly since 1997 but never posted it anywhere that I can remember. FFVII seems to have a lot in common with Akira, to the point that I believe the developers were inspired by Akira. Here's a short list off the top of my head: - The cat slide in Midgar that Cloud climbs on...
