Re: What have you read lately?

All were unabridged, and all by Blackstone Audio (I have a long commute in the car). About the only common difference I've noted is that in some books the exclamation "The Devil!" is used to indicate surprise, and in the exact same context another book will use "The Deuce!" I wou...

Re: What have you read lately?

So many of Dumas, and they're all glorious:
- The Three Musketeers
- 20 Years Later
- Reading currently The Man in the Iron Mask
- The Count of Monte Cristo

Also some Tana French:
- In the Woods
- Faithful Place

And Slade House by David Mitchell

Also reading The House of Leaves but I'm scared.

Re: The best RPG of all time, 2019

Definitely agree on:
- FF7
- A Link to the Past
- Skyrim
- The Pokemon Series as a Franchise (individual games are hard to rate too highly but the series is worth being involved in)

I haven't played Witcher 3 but know I should. Fallout 4 is an awesome game but I wouldn't rate it as a top RPG per se.

Re: Who would survive?

Thanks, I'll have check out that movie Pessimistic people, who have a tendency to be prudent & resourceful, who keep physically fit, who like to explore, who know how to fit in when needed or disappear when not. I guess it depends on the type of world though, I'm thinking of it from a semi-lawle...

Re: FFVII Remake Megathread

It's not what most of us are going to want, which would be updated visuals & audio, some minor fixes here and there, and a bit of a longer game (more content/post-game content). It's looking more and more like it will be an entirely new game with some reused storylines/characters, and I guess if...

Re: Bringing up a child

Being raised by your biological father is the single greatest positive developmental factor for children. There's an enormous amount of research and evidence that shows that kids raised by single moms are insanely more likely to have more and worse issues than those raised in a household with their...

Re: Bringing up a child

The majority of research on the topic shows similar outcomes in children who have same-sex vs opposite-sex parent combinations. I'm not an expert by any means, and haven't personally explored single parent families. Most likely there would be no correlation related to marriage; I don't see how that ...
